Changeling concept: The Hagfish Hive by Siansaar Changeling concept: The Hagfish Hive by Siansaar
Queen Myxine and her changelings. They live in hollowed out caves along the shore and eat seafood to produce their building material (which might resemble corals). Usually they’ll either play the drowning to be saved, or save the drowning. Sometimes they build sharp spires underwater and try to navigate ships into them. Sometimes they’re lazy and just simulate a shark attack by swimming with their horn looking up over the water like a shark fin.
They are a pretty small hive as ponies aren't all that big on seafaring. Overall they’re pretty pragmatic and a direct contrast to the Honeycomb hive’s song and dance.

Another where the queen's personality and such wasn't described. Darn. Was curious about that.

Huh, y'know, never really realized that. I just have these images of them in my head that I thought I'd already presented in some form. I guess as random answers to related questions. Anyway.
Myxine is very down to earth, risk-vs-gain calculating, efficient, short-spoken...and just a little tired out. Youngest of the queens, but by necessity of force the most grown-up. (As in, she was forced to grow up very fast) Constantly in worry about her hive's future.
Calliphora is...unsettling. Usually silent, just observing, or seems to be somewhere entirely else with her thoughts, but then she suddenly focuses all her attention on you. Unpredictable. In the face of danger (to her or her hive), she becomes very aggressive, very fast. Likes to toy with others' minds at times. (See The Meeting )

So, Calliphora is one whose head is often up in the clouds, but has such focus that it's terrifying.^^

And nice with Myxine. Must be especially hard for her, due to her territory having so little prey. Likely is difficult enough to maintain status quo, eh?

And since you just described them to me, it would likely be easy to copy and paste the sections of your reply to edit into their bios.^^

Quite on the contrary. They have to work the hardest of all to get what love they need to survive.
You're thinking of these guys:

They seem like a pretty calm and most least aggressive of them all, although the queen however is very stressed.

Would YOU think Celestia and her would make a rather steady alliance?

Unsteady, more like. I can't see either of them fully trusting the other.

If Seaponies are a thing would they stand in conflict with them? Would they try to approach them as they do with regular ponies?

They would probably conflict yes, and no, they wouldn't imitate them, since (presumably) seaponies can breathe underwater where changelings cannot. (Although the hagfish hive has stronger lungs than others).

When you designed her mane did you get inspiration from the dorsal fins of certain fish?

No. As far as I recall, I simply wanted to try a queen with shorter hair. Aside from the different aesthetic, it makes sense to keep shorter hair when you do a lot of swimming, otherwise you'd constantly be waiting for it to dry.

I'd like to think that this queen is a more stoic and silent queen compared to the others, very tunnel vision in terms of what is next on her list of duties. And maybe she's the kind of queen who likes to handle matters directly before sending someone else to do it. If there's ever a  ship to take down she's the first out of the water and the last one in during their ambushes, but she never jumps head first without a calculated and well thought plan of attack. To keep her citizens happy maybe she has a regent that takes care of the more public aspect of ruling while she takes care of the actual ambushes and town infiltrations

She seems more like the grumpy, serious person who never smiles or laughs. A total work-a-holic with an intellect which would even Twilight would look like a picklebrain. She also wants her hive to be recognized and respected because they are so much smaller and herself so much younger and shorter then other hives and their Queens.

In relations to the other hives i think shes quite distant aswell but has a certain grugde against Miasma because of her character. Miasma probably keeps making fun about Myxine because of her Size and Age. Like: She treats her like a Kid who wants to play with the big girls. Ambrosia seems to be her Rival just like Miasma and Chrysalis are to one another. I mean look at Ambrosia: Shes quite the total Opposite of Myxine in almost every aspect. Size, Character, Food Supplies and Intellect. I would LOVE to see like Scenes when Myxine and Ambrosia interact with each other XD

I think she's also the great strategist and trains her drones so she has quality over quantity unlike Chrysalis for Example, who got beaten up by the unarmed Mane6.
And like you said: She probably lets nobody else do her planning or organizing just to make sure everything goes smoothly because she knows for herself she has the brain to plan her moves perfectly. Could be a sign of constant fear that she wouldn't have enough supplies for her hive or never learned to entrust somebody else with duties someone else could easily take of her shoulder.

I wonder, when like carni mentioned, ponies are not that much used for seatravel, how do they deal with the Winter? When like nobody is out on the sea or coast?

You see, i was looking up for the names of some of the Changeling Queens and their Hive Names in Real Life. I know hagfishs, but when i saw an episode of Discovery Channel about them i was kinda stunned. They lived for over Million years and survived almost every global change, they didn't even evolved in any kind, whatsoever. They can produce their slime by releasing some proteins into the water which create the slime in a matter of seconds. Predators which are trying to grab or bite them, get that stuff in their jaws and suffocate. Then the hagfishs feed from their cadavers with their toothless rasp-like mouth.

One thing I would like to ask is: I'm roleplaying Queen Myxine on Twitter. My second in command, Praetorian Coral, would want a custom General Drone, Hagfish Hive-style for a profile picture. What exactly would I need to do to get that?
