little did they know their victory was ijncomplete. while they had bound celestia and the elements, the moon was missing still. by morning their victory shrank more as all but celestia, kept close the queens, had vanished, several dead changelings left in its wake.
they may have won canterlot, but the war........ the war was only beginning. a war of uncertainty, terrorism, and tainted dreams.
chrysalis only won through dumb luck to begin with. and each queen has her own desires and needs. and each queen is equally less capable of fighting the regal ones alone. and of course luna was never seen during the attack, more than likely hiding in wait upon realizing celestia was overpowered.
even if together they surpass one of the regal sisters, they do not have the same scale and range of abilties. and the lifestyle of a changelign does not permit much magical education to speak of. they are powerful but far from perfect enemies, let alone stable allies.
To be perfectly honest, Luna and Celestia can easily be defeated if taken by surprise then imprisoned. Against all the changeling queens, their power would be equally matched. If not taken by surprise, the fight would truly be a worthy one.... but it's just plain boring for you to think that "of course" the good wins.
Here, the good (Luna, Celestia, etc) would be imprisoned or killed... though perhaps alicorns are reborn? Or lost forever? Who knows..
Regardless, although Celestia and Luna are powerful.. we've seen them be defeated before when taken by surprise. (seriously, plants captured those two... )
As for Chrysalis winning through dumb luck, no that's just stupid. If you actually think that, you're ignoring the fact that she literally defeated Celestia and practically had Canterlot under control..
.......... plants powered by the magic of a god tree dude.
also no it was dumb luck. think about it. how would celestia have reacted if she knew chrysalis had gotten a power up? more than likely with extra caution. even if chrysalis had more power she lack magical training. heck part of a comic arc from idw, which IS canon to the show, stated that quite plainly. she is powerful even without the boost, if not in the same league, but she lost to twilight through sheer magical skill. she is stronger but twilight was better.
Okay, no. The plants were created by Discord, and was not "powered" by the the Tree of Harmony. They were created to take the magic from the tree, but whether or not gained power from it we do not know. PLUS they're plants despite that! Alicorns should have been able to handle some plants, just like how the mane six helped Twilight. But, because the plants took Celestia and Luna by surprise were they defeated and captured...
And your second argument isn't making any sense.... are you saying that Celestia knew Chrysalis was there? Because she didn't, no one did. Are you saying Celestia knew the power she gained from Shining Armor? Nope, she didn't. She fought Chrysalis with the intention of defeating her, and even Chrysalis was surprised she did. That just proved how strong Shining Armor's love was. There was no luck behind that battle.
It wasn't dumb luck that Chrysalis took over Canterlot, that was planned out and quite frankly poorly executed by the show. The show barely showed the audience what the plan actually was that Chrysalis had. The only thing we know was that she wanted to take over Princess Cadence's place, and continue to feed off Shining Armor. There's more I could add, but overall she DID defeat Celestia. She ALMOST took over Canterlot...
But the same love that helped her defeat Celestia, turned right around and helped to defeat her.
I'm with you on this one. I love Changelings, don't get me wrong. But I think that Luna would have banded together with other ponies and her own forces. To fight Luna's rage is to literally fight the night. And she probably turn into Nightmare Moon just to prove a point.
Calli look out of place compared to the others, where as they all have dynamic lighting on them giving them depth. Cali has little to none, granted that she is in solid shadow so that would make sense.
Also I think she could have some sort of "action" if you will. Like the rest of them, maybe her eyes or horn are glowing and that adds the lighting dynamic. Her red magic lighting up her face and creating depth shadows.
The piece is still great and I love seeing all of them together, these are just some things i noticed.
Her placement makes sense with her being sensitive to light which if he remained constant with the dark shading of the other changelings didn't give him much in the way of giving her depth. I dont mind that the other 4 are all goofing off or engaged but Calli, she is staring at us...
